Simple New Years Ideas

Don’t have any plans to celebrate new years? That’s ok, you don’t have to do anything extravagant & amazing. But, if you want to do something a little special with things you may have already around your house, I have some simple ideas for you.

Snacks & Dinner

You don’t have to do anything crazy, just get/make some foods you & your family will love.

  • Crackers, salami/pepperoni, apple slices, & cheese

  • Potatoe skins

  • Vegetables & fruit

  • Pizza

  • Chips & dip

You can use fancy platters or serving boards. Presentation is sometimes what can make the simplest meal feel more special💛

Dessert

  • Oreo Truffles (This recipe is very quick & easy to make. Sprinkle with some sanding sugar or star or snowflake sprinkles) Recipe Here!

I have also made half of this recipe before because I didn’t have enough Oreos. Also, I usually use Crisco in the chocolate.

  • Make your own sundaes

  • Eat leftover cookies & chocolates gifted to you for Christmas

Homemade confetti poppers

These are very simple & easy to make. It is so much fun to pull the ends & watch the confetti float down. Happy New Year!

What you need:

  • Tissue paper

  • Ribbon

  • Scissors

  • Optional: Shiny foil wrapping paper assorted colors. This is my favorite because it flutters more as it falls to the ground.

Step 1.Cut tissue paper or shiny foil wrapping paper into long skinny pieces & short confetti size pieces.

Step 2. Put a handful of confetti into center of a piece of tissue. Roll tissue paper & bunch ends together. Make sure to have only one layer of paper, so it’s easier to break.

Step 3. Tie the ends with ribbon. Curl ribbon ends if you want to, I usually do.

Step 4. Cut of any access paper on the ends.

Make Homemade New Year Hats

This can be a very fun creative tradition to start & it probably uses things you already have lying around.

What you need:

  • Paper

  • Scissors

  • Markers & color pencils

  • Tape

Step 1. Cut hats in fun shapes or into crowns.

Step 2. Decorate with colored markers. Draw stars, write Happy New Year 2024!, etc. Get creative!

Step 3. Tape paper ends together & size to your head.

Happy New Year!!! I hope you have a wonderful year ahead!🕰️✨🎉🎊
